Super Falcons On Same Level with France — Toni Payne

Toni Payne is confident the Super Falcons can hold their own against any team in the world, and claims the team is on the same level with France and Australia.

Payne was on target as the Falcons beat Australian club side FC Lions 8-1 in an exhibition game played on Saturday.

 

 

Speaking after the game, Payne, who plays her club football for Spanish club Sevilla said the result shows the level of the Super Falcons.

“We are on the same level as France and Australia, and we are very confident. With the players we have here, we are ready to fight,” Payne told NFF TV.

The nine-time African Champions will combat reigning Olympic Champions Canada in their first World Cup game later this month.

“We are growing and improving our system every day with every training. Step by step, we are getting ready for our first game against Canada,” She concluded.​

The game against Canada is scheduled for Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Friday, July 21.
