Nigerian footballers, Chinwendu Ihezuo and Osinachi Ohale both scored in Pachuca’s 3-1 victory over Toluca in a Mexican Liga MX match on Tuesday.
The match started slowly for Pachuca, with Amandine Henry’s Toluca team pushing for the opening goal.
After multiple chances, Brenda finally put Toluca ahead in the 16th minute.
However, Pachuca responded in the second half, with Ohale equalizing in the 52nd minute through a well-placed header from a corner kick.
Ihezuo followed up in the 71st minute, scoring with a header from a free kick, giving Pachuca the lead. Captain Veronica Corral sealed the win just three minutes later with a third goal.
Ohale played the entire match, while Ihezuo, who has now scored eight goals in nine games, was substituted in the 94th minute.
Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her eighth goal of the season. She earlier scored in Pachuca’s 2-0 win over Puebla in the Mexican women’s league on Friday.
Pachuca currently tops the Mexican women’s league with 35 points, tied with UANL Tigres after 13 games.
