Opeyemi Ajakaye is excited with her maiden appearance for Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons.

Ajakaye made her bow in the 2024 Olympic women’s football event qualifier against Ethiopia on Wednesday.

The young forward came on in the second half of the encounter played at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa.

“Happy to have earned my first senior cap for Nigeria’s Super Falcons. I appreciate everyone for the support since my youth ranks.

Wearing the Nigeria colours will always be cherished in my heart. My future is in God’s hands.

“Let’s get the job done next week in Abuja,” She wrote on her X account.

Opeyemi Ajakaye is one of the players drafted to replace the established ones that pulled out of the game.

The tie will be decided next week in Abuja, after the first leg ended 1-1 draw.
