Super Falcons interim head coach, Justin Madugu said he’s confident in his team’s ability to secure another resounding victory in their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cape Verde.

The nine-time African champions dominated the first leg with a 5-0 triumph at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, last week.

With a significant lead, Cape Verde faces a formidable challenge, needing to score six goals without conceding to clinch the 2024 WAFCON ticket over Nigeria.

Despite the odds, Coach Madugu expresses his team’s determination to achieve a double victory over their hosts.

“We are not taking anything into chance with the blend of players that we have. We are not taking anything for granted. We are here to play and win irrespective of the position. We will try and impress so that they can get disgraced at home,” Madugu said in a short video posted on the team’s X handle.

“No matter how great your team is, you will always notice few areas you can improve on. We have noticed some few areas we feel they can work harder so that they will perfect at least what we have noticed either offensively or defensively.”

The gaffer also expect his side to adapt to the harsh weather condition in Praia.

“We are not expecting that to be a factor. However, in the course of the game, we really know what to do to address the weather situation. We know how to play against the wind.”

The highly anticipated encounter between Nigeria and Cape Verde in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier is set to take place at Estadio Nacional de Capo Verde with a scheduled kick-off at 6:00 PM Nigerian time.
