Super Falcons Captain Onome Ebi has confirmed she will be out of action for at least six weeks, due to injury.
Ebi injured her hamstring during the Nigeria’s semi-final match against Morocco at the Women’s African Cup of Nations on Monday.
The 39-year-old was substituted in the 77th minute and replaced by Michelle Alozie during the clash at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
She has now been diagnosed with biceps femoris muscle tear – Grade 2 and could require between six weeks to two months to recover.
She wrote on Twitter:
I’m out due to a hamstring injury (biceps femoris muscle tear – Grade 2) and could require between six weeks to two months to recover.
I suffered the injury in the gruelling semi final battle against Morocco on Monday that we lost on penalty shootout in Rabat. I will be back.
