KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed optimism regarding the Super Eagles’ chances of qualifying for the World Cup, despite their challenging campaign in the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles are yet to secure a win in their first four matches, drawing three games and suffering a shocking loss to Benin Republic.
Arokodare, who scored 15 goals and provided 3 assists in the recently concluded season, in the Belgian league, believes that the team can still make a strong comeback.
“If you are a true football fan, you never lose hope, because it is not over until it’s all over,” the Forward told Brila Media. “I think we can still qualify for the World Cup.”
“First of all, we have a lot of quality in the team. I know football fans are never out of patience, but I feel the fans still have to be patient because it is a new coach and he has to test the waters,” stated the 23-year-old.
“I know it is tough and now is not the moment to test the waters. But you have to put yourself in his shoes and understand what is going on. With time in the coming games, we will see, and I really think we will get three points in the remaining games.”
Speaking about his potential contribution to the team, Arokodare mentioned that he would give his all if given the opportunity to play for the Super Eagles.
“If I do get the call, that’s a good idea. I will give it my all,” he concluded.
