Super Eagles RB, Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed confidence that Nigeria will be ready for a formidable challenge against host, Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday.

Nigeria, seeking redemption after a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, are gearing up for another crucial clash – against Cote d’Ivoire.

Despite Jose Peseiro’s side dominating the match, their aspirations were hindered by subpar finishing, forcing them to settle for a draw.

As three-time African champions, the Super Eagles now find themselves in a must-win situation against Les Elephants to enhance their chances of progressing to the next round of the tournament.

Osayi-Samuel conveyed his disappointment over the missed opportunity against Equatorial Guinea, stating, “Honestly, of course, we wanted to win. It’s a bit disappointing because a big nation like us, every game we are expected to win.”

“I believe that with the squad that we have, the game against Ivory Coast, we will do our best. When we play against those big teams, that’s when we do better. We know what it takes, and everyone is confident,” he declared.
