Sao Tome and Principe forward Ricardo Cardoso has expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the True Patriots during their match against the Super Eagles in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday.
Despite losing 6-0 to Nigeria, Cardoso acknowledged the talent and quality of the Nigerian team, Cardozo said hjs side did well against great players paraded from the Premier League and other renowned leagues.
He mentioned that playing against such a strong team was challenging, but he and his teammates gave their best on the field.
The Adrian Eusobio’s side also lost the first meeting 10-0 in Morocco.
“Nigeria have a good team, they have good players in the Premier League and other big leagues.
“It was difficult to play against them but we did our best, but Nigeria were superior at all level” the striker told the media after the game.
Cardoso also spoke positively about the stadium atmosphere, stating that it was a great experience for him and his teammates.
“We really love the ambience at the stadium. It was a good experience for me and my teammates” He concluded.
