The Super Eagles returned to the shores of Nigeria after honoring their 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers match against Sierra Leone on Tuesday.
The three-time African champions touched down arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 3 am Nigerian time on Wednesday, according to a tweet on the Super Eagles official Twitter handle.
“We just arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja. #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong” the tweet reads.
The Eagles were unable to defeat the Leone Stars in their own backyard and had to settle for a goalless draw.
However, they remain on top of the log with eight points, while the Benin Republic is second with seven points, Sierra Leone is third with three while Lesotho occupied the bottom of the group with just two points.
