Nigeria have retained their position in the latest FIFA ranking, sitting 39th globally and 6th in Africa.
Despite earning four points in their last two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the rankings saw little change for the three-time African champions.
The Super Eagles secured a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and played to a goalless draw against Rwanda.
However, these results had minimal impact on their global standing, as confirmed by the rankings released on Thursday by the World Football governing body.
Nigeria will have another chance to improve their position in October when the qualifiers resume.
Meanwhile, Morocco, who reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, remains Africa’s highest-ranked team, holding the 14th spot in the world.
South Africa dropped two places, moving from 57th to 59th globally and falling out of Africa’s top 10, now ranked 11th on the continent.
On the global stage, Argentina continues to hold the top spot, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil.
