Super Eagles players must tell each other the truth – Taribo

Former Super Eagles defender and ex-international, Pastor Taribo West has called on players of the Super Eagles to talk between themselves and ensure they raise their game heading into the business end of the competition.

The former AC Milan defender admitted the players were not good enough after their disappointing 2-0 defeat against Madagascar at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) over the weekend.

Gernot Rohr’s men were humiliated by the island nation who are making their debut appearance at Afcon and speaking with www.brila.net, West called on the back four to be more solid, while also stating that the players need to be ready to work extra hard.

“The boys need to work more, I know the coach has been doing his own part, but between themselves, there has to be talking between themselves to improve and do better”.

“There has to also be also ready to work extra hard which is to ensure they play as a team and keep the back four solid”.

More disappointing for the Super Eagles was their inability to trouble Malagasy goalkeeper Melvin Adrien – registering just a shot on target.
