Super Eagles Needs Stability! Omeruo Raises Concern over Appointment of Coaches

There’s uncertainty surrounding the coaching job of the Super Eagles for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.

It has been a concern and Kenneth Omeruo has spoken out about it, but the CB believes the team is unsure who will lead them as the head coach on September 10 in Uyo.

There have been debates about the future of Jose Peseiro as the head coach, and even though there was talk of deciding his fate through public votes, no decision has been made yet.

Reports suggest that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) might be considering a temporary replacement for Peseiro, with talks still ongoing over a new contract.

Omeruo during an interview with Arise TV, Omeruo called on the NFF to resolve the issues quickly.

“When it comes to talent, Nigerians have amazing players. Even those that are on the bench in the national team go to their club sides and bang in goals week in, week out.

“We need to have a stable technical crew. A technical crew will take us to where we are supposed to be and give us exactly [the guidance] that we get in Europe,” the 29-year-old said.

“We do not even know who will be the coach in the next game. It is crazy, and it has to be fixed.”

Despite this uncertainty, the Eagles have already qualified for the 2023 AFCON, with the final group game against Sao Tome scheduled for September 10th.
