"We should just do everything possible to make sure we win all the games.”

Super Eagles Must Play to Win Against Benin Republic – Adepoju

Former Nigerian midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju has assured fans there’s no reason to worry about any potential “inside knowledge” advantage for Benin ahead of their second leg clash.

Adepoju believes the Super Eagles have sufficient counter-knowledge of Gernot Rohr’s strategies.

The Super Eagles previously defeated Benin 3-0 in the first leg of the qualifier.

Rohr aims to leverage his knowledge of the Super Eagles, and he has added Remo Stars goalkeeper, Serge Obassa to his squad.

In an interview with Brila.net, Adepoju emphasized that execution on the field is what truly matters.

“They know a bit about us, but we also know Gernot Rohr well from his time here, and with Obassa’s Remo Stars coach on our technical team, there’s no need to worry,” Adepoju said.

“Our team should just make their plans; the way they are supposed to play, do everything possible to make sure they win the game.”

Adepoju reflected on past encounters:

“We met them at the World Cup qualifier which they defeated us but this AFCON qualifier and we’ve defeated then in the first leg.

“We should just do everything possible to make sure we win all the games.”

Nigeria sits top of group D and need a point from the final two games to secure a spot at the 2025 AFCON.
