SC Paderborn of Germany defender, Jamilu Collins has been put in doubt for Nigeria’s November 17th AFCON qualifier against South Africa, after sustaining an injury over the weekend.
Collins, who have succeeded to have played three straight matches consecutively for the super eagles of Nigeria with an outstanding display.
The left fullback might not be physically fit for the match against South Africa.
The 24-year-old left-back had to receive treatment in the 75th minute after he was badly tackled by an opponent in the division two match.
Although he initially returned to the pitch, Collins could not shake off discomfort from the and had to be replaced with 11 minutes left on the clock.
Collins, who has started all 14 matches contested by Paderborn so far this season, is now in a race against time to be fit for Nigeria’s next tie in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and a friendly against Uganda in Asaba three days later.
