Nigerian defender Gabriel Osho has completed his transfer from English side Luton Town to newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Auxerre.
Osho was part of the Hatters team that won promotion to the English top flight in the 2022-23 season and made 21 Premier League appearances last season, scoring twice.
He rose to prominence at Luton Town before deciding to leave following the expiration of his contract in June.
In a social media post, Auxerre announced:
“We are pleased to announce the signing of defender Gabriel Osho from Luton on a one-year deal with an option to extend for a further 12 months. He will wear the number 3 shirt.”
“Born and trained in Reading, the 25-year-old Osho has spent his entire career in England, establishing himself as one of the most solid central defenders in the Championship.
“He scored in the play-off semi-final, contributing to Luton’s historic promotion to the Premier League in 2022-2023. Last season, he played 21 Premier League games and faced some of the best strikers in the world,” the club wrote.
