The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that the opportunity for Chelsea defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, to represent the Super Eagles remains open despite his previous decision to reject an invitation to the team.
Adarabioyo, who is eligible to play for both Nigeria and England, is yet to make a final decision on his international career.
Born in England, but the 27-year-old has been overlooked by the English national team multiple times.
A source within the NFF revealed that efforts have been made to bring the Premier League player into the Nigerian fold.
“Jose Peseiro traveled to meet with him in the UK last year to speak to him about playing for Nigeria, but he told the coach at that time that he was not ready,” the source told ESPN. “If he wants to make the switch now, he knows what to do.”
Adarabioyo has garnered significant Premier League experience, having played for Manchester City, Fulham, and now Chelsea.
Despite approaching the later stages of his career, the NFF remains hopeful that he will choose to represent Nigeria.
