Nigerian defender, Chidozie Awaziem is on the verge of joining Ligue Un side, Nantes on a season-long loan, thus becoming the first signing of Coach, Claudio Ranieri.

Awaziem joins the eight-time French Champions from FC Porto having played all of last season in the second team.

The 20-year-old Nigeria International, who made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles in the 2-0 loss to South Africa, is wanted by Nantes with an option to buy after his loan spell per Daniel Martins [owngoalnigeria].

However, Porto have refused to sell the play outright, opting to loan him instead while they cover the majority of his wages.

The defender is considered a huge prospect by the Primeira Liga side has a buy out clause pegged at €20m.
