Ukraine head coach Andriy Shevchenko has said Nigeria’s Super Eagles gave his side hard game in Tuesday’s international friendly played at Dnipro Arena.
The Ukrainians fought back from two goals down to draw the game and preserve their unbeaten run against an African opponent.
Speaking after the game, the former Milan striker opined that the Gernot Rohr tutored side were far stronger than their last Euro 2020 qualifier opponents, Lithuania whom they defeated 3-0.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Roman Yaremchuk dragged the home side back into the game, after Joe Aribo and Victor Osimhen gave the Africans first half.
”It is very difficult to find the ideal at all. The team is moving in the right direction. It is impossible to compare today’s match with the previous one against Lithuania,” Shevchenko told reporters after the game.
“It is a completely different team made up of players who play in different championships. But today’s game was very important, we received a lot of valuable information.” He concluded.
