Sunshine Stars will eventually play their first game of the 2019/20 NPFL season, Sunday, in Akure when they host Warri Wolves.
Kabiru Dogo’s men were scheduled to face Enugu Rangers in an away tie, but the game was postponed due to the latter’s involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
That extended break rather than slow them down, will show just how eager they are to return to action says winger Fuad Ekelojuoti.
Ekelojuoti had a pivotal season last term with the club; as one of their top scorers and has told www.brila.net they’re longing for more.
“For sometime, in pre season, we didn’t go out of our domain. we were just doing normal things so dat we don’t reach our peak and come down to decline,” the Winger explained.
“So immediately the date for the league was announced, We moved to a closed camp to put team in shape with series of òlòrè si òrè (friendlies).”
As per the team’s home league opener, against a side that’s got a 90 minutes head start this season, he disagrees.
“Nah….they have gotten a taste of it, but we are longing for it. That feeling, we can’t just wait to get it started.”
