Sunshine Stars will be ready — Agoye

Edith Agoye is confident Sunshine Stars will be ready to compete in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season.

Agoye’s side suffered 3-1 defeat to Shooting Stars in a pre-season friendly game on Thursday at the FC Ebedei Stadium, Sagamu.

The Oluyole Warriors grabbed the opener inside the opening 20 minutes through Abdallah Hussain before Ejike Uzoechi scored from the spot to restore parity.

Sunshine Stars went down for the second time in the 66th minute as Anthony Okachi squeezed home from Abdallah’s pass.

Joshua Akpan added the third for 3SC in added time to condemned Agoye’s side to a defeat in his first meeting against his former side.

Speaking to the media, Agoye expressed satisfaction with the side’s preparations for the season so far, adding that things are looking better for the team.

“The exertion from the friendly with Gombe yesterday really took a way some freshness from our boys.

“In all we have been able to test all our players and have seen the ones that we can move forward with and also know our area of needs.

“We have identified where to improve on. Not a bad tournament for us and going forward I know things will be better for us,” He said.
