Sunshine Stars ended their Super 6 Championship Playoff with a deserved win over Lobi Stars on Sunday.
The Owena Whales had failed to win any of their previous four matches, drawing two and losing two in the process.
The team however showed courage and determination to end the campaign with a deserved 3-1 success over Lobi Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Sunday.
Edith Agoye’s side got their first goal of the game through Stephen Chukwude on the 23rd minute.
Sunshine Stars then doubled their advantage six minutes before the break, before Lobi Stars pulled one back through Elijah Ani on the 69th minute.
Vincent Temitope killed any hope of a comeback for Lobi Stars with Sunshine Stars’ third goal of the game eight minutes from time.
The Akure club ended the playoff with five points from five games, three ahead of Lobi Stars who finished the competition bottom of the log with three defeats and two draws.
