After a goalless first half, Ikorodu City took control of the game early in the second half. Rivio Ayemwenre broke the deadlock, converting Waliu Ojetoye’s cross just three minutes after the break.

Kelechi Onwe doubled their lead in the 56th minute, and Toyeeb Ajeyigbe sealed the win with a third goal 14 minutes from time.

In another match at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, defending champions Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Sunshine Stars.

Stephen Chukwude’s 43rd-minute strike secured Sunshine Stars’ third win of the season, lifting them to fourth place on the table.
