Former Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba has urged the NFF to meet the demands of head coach Eric Chelle, insisting that the coach has earned the right to make requests and continue with the national team.
Speaking in a chat with Brila.net, Mba stated that Chelle has already shown his capability with the team and should be given the opportunity to continue his project with the Super Eagles.
According to Mba, the coach’s recent work with the team has strengthened his position and justified his confidence in making demands from the federation.

“See let me tell you, once you have done what you need to do you can say what you want. The white coaches that first came where did they come from? We know how they came. They are not scared to talk or demand for what they want. Eric Chelle has given you guys results, everyone likes him in the country.
“So he feels his bargaining power is high, that is why he mentioned those offers. Except we have another messiah that can help us manage the Nigerian national team, we all want to win,” Mba said.
There have been increasing calls within Nigerian football for the NFF to offer Chelle a new contract.
Reports indicate that the Malian French tactician still has about one year remaining on his current deal.

Chelle is also reported to have requested a monthly salary of $130,000.
The figure has been described as too high by some stakeholders in Nigerian football.
However, Chelle previously clarified in an interview that the proposed amount is not solely for his personal salary.
According to him, the money is intended to support a full professional technical structure around the national team.
