Former Liverpool stalwart, Steve Nicol believes Victor Osimhen could be the perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah should the Egyptian star depart Anfield.

Recent reports suggest that Salah might be considering a move to the Saudi Pro League, with reigning champions Al-Ittihad allegedly making a £150 million bid for the forward last September.

Further fueling the transfer speculations, Saudi giants Al Hilal have also shown interest in acquiring Salah’s services.

Given these uncertainties surrounding Salah’s future, Nicol has endorsed the idea of Liverpool pursuing Osimhen as his potential successor.

Speaking to ESPN, Nicol said, “If Salah does end up leaving, whether it’s this summer or the next, I believe Osimhen would be an excellent addition to Liverpool.”

Osimhen’s future at Napoli has been under the microscope, with the Nigerian international reportedly set to depart the Serie A champions this summer.

Alongside Liverpool, the 23-year-old striker has also been linked with moves to other Premier League sides including Chelsea and Arsenal.
