Sporting Lagos has been relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League after just one season in the top-flight division.

The team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday, with Christian Pyagbara scoring the decisive goal.

Finishing 17th on the log, Sporting Lagos accumulated 46 points from 36 matches.

Joining them in relegation to the second division are Doma United, Gombe United, and Heartland FC.
