Onuachu joined Southampton in the EPL from KRC Genk
After a season he was loaned to Trabzonspor
He scored 17 goals in 25 Super Lig appearances
Southampton have no plans to keep Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, despite his impressive loan stint with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
In a report by British publication The Real EFL, Southampton is reportedly open to offloading the forward this summer transfer window.
This news comes on the heels of their promotion back to the English Premier League.
The striker, who joined Trabzonspor on loan scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 25 matches.
Trabzonspor is eager to extend Onuachu’s stay, but negotiations with Southampton have yet to yield an agreement, prompting the English club to entertain offers from other interested parties.
Onuachu’s tenure at Southampton, which began in the January transfer window of the 2022/23 season in a €18m deal, failed to meet expectations.
The towering forward struggled to adapt to English football, failing to find the net in all 12 of his appearances for the Saints, ultimately leading to his season-long loan move.
