South African midfielder Teboho Mokoena has urged his side to continue their solid performance when they face the Olympic Eagles in their third Group B match at the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
South Africa are unbeaten after two Group matches, winning against Ivory Coast and drew in the opening game with Zambia.
The young Bafana Bafana and the Dream Team VII will clash on Friday at the Al Salam Stadium, Cairo on Friday for a place in the last four.
“We played really well against Ivory Coast in our previous match and Nigeria is another side that we will need to manage as well,”
“We have been solid at the back in our previous two group games while pressing forward to create scoring chances of our own. The same approach will be applied in this tie, as we also want to win this game as well,” he said.
South Africa are leading Group B with four points, a point ahead of Nigeria, a win for either side will guarantee semi-final tickets irrespective of the result of other game between Cote D’Ivore and Zambia.
