South Africa Coach fires Warning to “Favorite” Super Eagles

South Africa’s coach, Hugo Broos has said his team is ready to face Nigeria in their World Cup qualifier clash in Uyo tonight.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Broos acknowledged the strength of the Super Eagles but emphasized that his team is prepared to give their best and potentially upset the hosts.

“We are ready for this game, surely, otherwise we shouldn’t be here. We all know that Nigeria is a very good team,” Broos said.

He recalled their previous encounter in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he felt the outcome could have been different, suggesting that both teams are evenly matched.

Broos also highlighted the pressure on Nigeria to secure a home victory.

“I know also that the pressure is a little bit on Nigeria because they have to win the game when you play qualifiers for the World Cup or AFCON.

“You can’t lose points at home, so the pressure is a little bit on them. On the other side, we believe in it and we have confidence.”

Broos also mentioned their strong showing against Algeria in March, indicating that his team is capable of maintaining their high level of play.

“We played a very good game in March against Algeria, so that means that we can go on, on the level we had in AFCON. So we believe that we can make a good result.”
