South Africa defeated Nigeria 2-0 in a Group E 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo on Saturday.
It was Bafana Bafana’s first win against the Super Eagles in a competitive match.

Striker Tokelo Rantie scored in the 54th minute – his third goal against Nigeria – and Percy Tau doubled the lead in the 82nd.

It was Gernot Rohr’s first defeat since his appointment as Technical Adviser of the team and Stuart Baxter’s second win against Nigeria.
The win means South Africa move to second spot in the Group behind Libya, only on goals difference.
