Coach of Nigeria Premier basketball league side Air warriors Samson Sotuminu has hailed his players for putting up a gallant effort following the team’s 62-61 victory over seemingly irrepressible holders First Bank basketball club in Wednesday’s semi-final.
Sotuminu who in his first season has now lead the Warriors’ team to the final attributed the win to hard work from his players and sheer resolve of the girls to make a statement after charging them with a third-quarter time out to come out and play for themselves.
“It’s just down to hard work, very big hard work. I’m so happy with the girls. It was a technical game and I told them in the third quarter to come out and play all that they could play and I stated clearly that you girls are playing for yourselves and God handed us the victory.”
