Sodje in cloud nine after netting winner against Rangers

Match winning goalscorer for Bendel Insurance in the 2-1 win against in-form Rangers International of Enugu, Stephen Sodje has expressed delight at getting the crucial goal which has rekindled the hope of his side getting a playoff spot.

Speaking with brila.net, Sodje admitted that Gbenga Ogunbote’s side were a very tough nut to crack despite being reduced to 10 men but they were persistent in their gameplay which eventually paid off.
“I am really happy we eventually won the match. We gave it our all-knowing fully well that they were a very good team. We just played to the coach’s instructions and kept the pressure on them. When the opportunity came, I knew I had to take it and I did”, a visibly elated Sodje wrapped.
Bendel Insurance are now within grasps of a possible playoff spot and will have to maintain a winning streak.
Rangers still tops group A of the NPFL with 31 points while Enyimba are second with 25 points.
Insurance have amassed 21 points and lie sixth on the log.
