Auwalu Ali Malam’s 23rd minute goal was enough for Kano Pillars to snatch all three points on the road against Dakkada FC.
Ali converted a sumptuous free-kick from the edge of the area to give Emmanuel Soccoia’s side their first away victory of the season.
The victory also brought an end to the club’s run of 14 consecutive away matches without a win; dating back to December 2019 after a 2 – 1 win over Dakkada.
Speaking after the game, Soccoia praised the performance of his team and the win after a slow start to the season.
“You know, we are here for a purpose and we were able to achieve it despite that the condition of the pitch is poor but thank God, my players managed the condition and played very well for the 3 points,” He said.
