Assistant coach of Nigeria’s Men basketball national team D’Tigers Mohammed Abdulrahman has stated that slow start was the cause of the D’Tigers 48-57 points defeat against host nation Angola losing what would have earned the team the chance to top group B and qualify DIRECTLY to the quarter finals at the ongoing Afrocan tournament in Luanda but will now have to go through an extra game for a longer route to reach the last eight.
Abdulrahman speaking in a chat with www.brila.net after the team’s defeat said the team was always going to have a tough game playing against the host nation who had the fans behind them but would have been able to win had they started the way they ended the last two quarters where they closed the gap to lose eventually by 9 points after trailing by double digits at some point in the course of the game.
