Jamilu Collins was named on the bench in Cardiff’s Championship League match against Blackburn at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Collins had been absent from the squad for four consecutive match days and only previously made the bench on two occasions.
The 30-year-old LB has also made just two appearances all season as he’s gradually playing his way back from a leg injury suffered last term.
He was left on the bench in Saturday’s game and watched as the visitors steamrolled their way to a 3-1 win, dropping the Blue Birds in relegation troubles this early in the season.

Luton Town were crushed 5-1 by Middlesbrough in their Championship League encounter, at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
Victor Moses stared off the bench, replacing team captain Amari’i Bell after the interval with Luton trailing 2-0.
The Nigerian has had just one goal involvement since joining the Hatters, and overall their form has been power.
Relegated from the Premier League last season, Town fans would have hoped their team will be making the push to return to the top flight, but their prayers now will be about beating the drop.
Bench Role Hurting Tanimu’s Super Eagles’ Chances
Benjamin Tanimu was benched for the second game in a row when Crawley Town welcomed Huddersfield to The Broadfield Stadium, in their League One clash, Saturday.
It ended all square, with the fans entertained to a four-goal thriller.
Tanimu featured in Crawley’s FA Cup fixture against Maidenhead about a week ago, playing 71minutes.
It was only his third appearance for the club after two previous league outings, but game time has been hard to come by for the 22 year-old.
He joined the third-tier English outfit from Tanzanian club, Ihefu, but limited minutes may have cost him his place in the Super Eagles.
The former Bendlel Insurance star has earned three caps from seven national team invites.
