Moses Simon was on the losing side as his Nantes side lost 3 – 0 to Olympique Lyon in the French Ligue one match on Wednesday.
Moses, 25, was a second half substitute, but couldn’t help his team break the Lyon defense.
Lyon Forward Karl Toko Ekambi scored the first for Lyon in the opening 4 minutes of the match.
The hosts continued to dominate and later got their second in the 37th minute through Tino Kadewere after combining with Houssem Aouar.
Lucas Paqueta put the match beyond the visitors with the third goal on the stroke of half time with an assist from Kedewere.
In a bid to rescue a point from the match, Nantes introduced Simon Moses, Kalifa Coulibaly, Abdoulaye Toure, Imran Louza and Bridge Ndilu in the second half, but they all failed to change the ebb and flow of the game.
Nantes remain 16th on the log with 15 points from 17 matches played so far.
