NFF 2nd Vice President Mallam Shehu Dikko has described the level of development in the Women professional League in Nigeria as disheartening.

Dikko in a chat with brila.net recalled that the Women’s professional Leagues started in Nigeria before France and in terms of development, Nigeria is nowhere to be found when compared to women league in France.

”We started the women professional league before France, but you can see today, a certain club in France, Lyon had won the UEFA women champions league for eight consecutive times now, ”

”What does that shows that? Dikko asked.

“It means there are opportunities for women football if the right investment and the right development is there, we also can achieve that.
