Shehu Abdullahi says Omonia Nicosia will do everything possible to have a good outing in the UEFA Conference League.
Omonia Nicosia dropped to the third tier of European elite football after a penalty shoot-out defeat against Royal Antwerp of Belgium in the third-round qualifiers on Thursday.
Shehu Abdullahi and his teammates took a 4-2 lead from the first leg to the game, but surrendered the advantage and eventually lost in the shoot-out.
Omonia will now face, FC Basel, Qarabag, and FC Almaty, in the Group Phase of the UEFA Conference League.
Reacting to the draw, Shehu said they are ready to make up for their Europa League elimination in the Conference League.
“We fought hard, we hope to make it count in the UEFA Europa Conference League. We appreciate the fans for their support”, The 27-year-old said.
The tournament final will be played at the Arena Kombëtare in Tirana, Albania.
