Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been named February’s Premier League Player of the Month.
Aguero enjoyed a stunning month for City – scoring two hat-tricks as Pep Guardiola’s side leapfrogged Liverpool to move top of the table.
During his four games in February, the Argentina international scored seven goals – with his two trebles coming against Arsenal and Chelsea.
The 30-year-old saw off competition from Ashley Barnes (Burnley), Sean Longstaff (Newcastle), Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk (both Liverpool), Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw (both Manchester United) and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace).
It is the sixth time that Aguero has won the award, but the first this season for City’s record goalscorer.
