Former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi has revealed he would pick Austine Okocha over John Mikel Obi if he’s faced with an option to pick among the duo.
Amokachi who was speaking on his popular program “The Bull’s Pit” via Brila FM on Monday praised Okocha’s skills and ability to unlock his teammates with some great through balls in difficult situations.
“I remember against Italy he made history with the most dribbles in a World Cup match.
“When Jay Jay is in his element the opponent will not even see the ball. The through passes he will give is incredible. That’s the Jay Jay you want to pick.
“So left for me I will pick Jay Jay any time any day”. He said.
Amokachi shared the dressing room with the golden generation of Nigerian players that won the 1994 African cup of Nations in Tunisia and also qualified for the FIFA World Cup in the USA the same year.
Amokachi and Okocha were also in the Nigerian Olympic football squad that won the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that won the Gold and both players also represented Nigeria in France 98 world.
Amokachi and Okocha shared good relationships in their playing days with the former Bolton and PSG man reportedly named his daughter after ‘Daniella’ after Amokachi.
