Franklin Sasere finally made his Europa League bow for Swiss side Lugano against FC Copenhagen of Denmark on Thursday.
Sasere came in as a second half substituted for Marco Aratore in the 70th minutes as Lugano fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to their visitors.
Nicolaj Thomsen’s 27th-minute strike was the only goal of the game that saw several chance gone begging for both side.
The Maurizio Jacobacci’s team dominated the game, but were let down by poor finishing and were made to pay dearly for missing several scoring opportunities as the visitors converted one of their three shots on target.
Sasere and his teammates have crashed out of the tournament, but will be the entertain Dynamo Kyiv on December 12 in a dead rubber game at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev.
