Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, said they must have respect for Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
While he emphasized on the team’s determination to secure another significant victory against visitors, the AC Milan forward warned his side against underestimating the winless True Patriots.
In their previous encounter back in June 2022, the Super Eagles had a dominant performance and routed Sao Tome and Principe with a scoreline of 10-0.
“We defeated them 10-0, the last time we met and it will be nice to go higher than that this time around.
“But in football, you have to respect your opponent as well. They won’t want a repeat of the first leg result and will give us a good fight.
Chukwueze also stressed the importance of finishing their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in impressive fashion.
“For us, it is important to make the fans happy. They will be looking forward to another big win and we can’t afford to disappoint them,” Chukwueze told reporters.
