Samuel Adekugbe was on parade for Canada against Belgium in Group F match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Wednesday. 

Adekugbe was named among the substitutes, but did came on in the second half as Canada went down 1-0 to Eden Hazard led Belgian side. 

Former Super Eagles invitee Ike Ugbo, also was on the bench for the Canadians, and will be disappointed to have played a single minute. 

Both Adekugbe and Ike Ugbo were on the rader of Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, with Ugbo declining a late invite to the Super Eagles in favor of Canada. 

Adekugbe came off in the second half of the game between for his World Cup debut and the defender shown a glimpse of brilliance. 

Canada were left to rue their misses, including a first half penalty by  Alphonso Davies as Mitchy Batshuayi scored the winner for the Red Devils. 

Adekugbe and Ugbo will be aiming to get game time when Canada face Croatia on Sunday.
