Salisu Yusuf Opens up on reported Tension between Nigerian Assistants and Peseiro

Salisu Yusuf has opened up about his working relationship with Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro, amidst reports of a tense working relationship with his Nigerian assistants during the friendly match against Mexico.

Media reports on Tuesday alleged that the the Portuguese manager sidelined the Nigerian’s in the technical Crew assistants, including Yusuf.

Reacting to the rumors, Yusuf said nothing of such happened, adding that there’s harmony among the Coaches, debunking stories of any tensions working with Peseiro.

“It has been great working with him (Peseiro),” Super Eagles second Assistant Coach Salisu Yusuf clarified.

“Before he resumed, I had two different conversations with him about certain players, especially the home based and he appreciated it. And we enjoy working with him.”

“During the game against Mexico, we talked to him and he agreed with our suggestions and we made changes with the system and players. It paid off, but unfortunately we conceded an own goal.”

“So it’s step by step, as we are building many things,” Yusuf told NFF TV.
