Super Eagles Head Coach, Salisu Yusuf has applauded the effort of his boys in the just concluded CHAN 2018 that was held in Morocco.
Yusuf was highly impressed with the home-based lads after moving all the way through the Finals of the Competition.
The Veteran tactician was also in awe of the Nigeria professional football league that produced such amazing players.
“The players really did well and I’m impressed”, It shows the League (NPFL) is the second best in the continent.
Meanwhile, Coach Salisu Yusuf has accepted the blame for the 4-0 huge loss Nigeria suffered in the final of the 2018 African Nations Championship against Morocco last Sunday.
Eagles that conceded just two goals prior to the final lost the form and character that propelled them to that stage of the competition.
However, Coach Salisu Yusuf in his pre-match conference after the loss took all the blame for the huge defeat at the hands of hosts.
“We lost because we had to manage due to many injuries, Morocco played well. Created chances and scored, it could have been better if we have all our players available.
The game became more difficult after the red card. I’m taking responsibility for this defeat, but I think we have done well to reach the final, we wanted to win but Morocco got it”. Salisu said.
“We played well at the WAFU tournament, then there was a transition, and we had to change some players.
It’s not easy to assemble the best 23 players in the league. I think we did well, playing six games – winning four, with one draw and loss,” he concluded.
