Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah seems to be cutting all ties with the Egyptian FA after a massive disagreement with his country’s FA which reached a boiling point after the FIFA’s Best awards.
The vote for the FIFA player of the season award is offered to the coach and captain of each nation under the organization’s umbrella, along with a member of the media.
He has removed all references to the Egypt national team from his social media after his latest row with the country’s FA.
But Egypt’s FA now face an investigation because even though captain Ahmed Elmohamady and coach Shawky Ghareeb both voted for Salah, those votes were not registered.
A vote from Egyptian journalist Hany Danial was counted, but he had opted for Sadio Mane and had Mo down in third place.
Salah has had other disputes with the football association that are well documented. It’s bizarre to see Egypt’s FA treating their country’s best every player like this.
