Arsenal’s youngster Bukayo Saka says he’s delighted to receive his maiden call up to England national team.
Saka was named in England’s squad for this month’s matches against Wales, Belgium, and Denmark and he’s expected to make his debut in one of the games.
Saka’s invitations to the England squad have dashed the hope of the Nigeria Football Federation who are trying to lure him into the Super Eagles.
In his reaction to the invitation, Saka said he’s grateful and also delighted to be in the English squad.
“Honoured and grateful to get my first @england call-up! #Blessings 💫” he said in a social media post.
Saka, 19, who was born in London to Nigerian parents recently made his England Under-21s debut last month.
He has now joined the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham on the list of players who choose their country of birth over Nigeria.
