Sadiq Umar was among the goal scorers for Almeria in their nervy 2-1 win over Logrones in La Segunda B clash on Monday.

The former AS Roma forward put Almeria in perfect control when he score inside opening two minutes into the game.

The lanky forward was at the right place at the right time to finish off a delightful pass from Manu Morlanes.

The goal was Umar’s 20th of the season for Almeria since arriving from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade, where he already scored six times in the league, before agreeing the transfer.

Juan Brandariz doubled the lead for Almeria in the 27th minutes as he tucked in a cross from Jose Lazo.

Sadiq had the chance to make it 3-0 after Almeria were awarded a penalty , but he agonisely missed the spot.

Logrones gave them a lifeline as Leonardo Ruiz halved the lead with a superb finish with 20 minutes left to play in the match.

Almeria, however, held on to their lead for a nervy win and secured a place in the promotion playoff.
