The arrival of Nigeria’s delegation, including the presence of Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr created some apprehension or perhaps excitement among the locals in Russia.
Nigeria and 31 other nations are gathered in the Russian capital, Moscow, for the 2018 FIFA World Cup draw.
Alongside Coaches, captains or at least a member of a team’s playing personnel will be present at the occasion.
But it seemed the Nigeria party attracted a lot of attention and the story was corroborated by the General Secretary of the NFF, Sanusi Mohammed.
In a chat with Babafemi Raji [Brila FM] on Sports Machine; hours before the draw, Sanusi explained how he and other Nigeria delegates became the cynosure for the locals and other delegates.

“It’s been a beehive of activity since we arrived Russia, there is a real buzz ahead of the draw Today. The Coach has been granting interviews and has been very busy.
‘When we arrived here the locals were very excited, they would say things in their language that we later found out was in adulation of the Super Eagles.
‘I will say the excitement was also out of apprehension following the victory against Argentina in the friendly match in Krasnodar,’ the NFF scribe expressed.
