Swedish FA chief Lars Richt has dismissed reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reverse his retirement decision to play for Sweden in this summer’s World Cup finals.
Zlatan had hinted earlier this month that he intended to take part at Russia 2018, two years after playing his last match for the Blue-Yellows.
Sweden manager Janne Andersson rubbished the suggestion that Ibrahimovic will be involved, however, and Richt has now further clarified that the former United forward is not available for selection.
“I talked to Zlatan on Tuesday. He announced he did not change his mind about the national team – it is no,” he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
