Nigeria International, Efe Ambrose is confident that Nigeria will qualify from Group D where they will face Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in the first round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
After the draw held in Russia on Friday, the Scotland based international, Ambrose said Nigeria has been pitted in a very tricky Group D.
The former Celtic defender also reckoned that the Super Eagles has what it takes to survive the Group because it is challenges that brings the best out of the Nigeria Natonal team.
“Let me say there are no minors or majors in the World Cup, It’s a game of 90minutes.” And as we all know, everything is working well for the Super Eagles right now”, The NFF, the media, the fans are all behind the team”. Ambrose said on Brila FM moments after the draw.
“If the team can be subjected to a very sound and early preparation, Nigeria will surpass expectations in Russia”. – Ambrose
The Hiberninan of Scotland defender also mention on the essence of Unity in the team, “We all know as Nigerians that whenever we are united, we make things happen, only division spoils things for us”, Ambrose emphasized.
Nigeria have met Argentina four times at previous World Cups and lost all the games, but they have never met Iceland and Croatia.
